Evita (October 1, Hulu)
Madonna stars in this 1996 musical based on the Tony Award-winning Andrew Lloyd Webber musical. Antonio Banderas and Jonathan Pryce round out the cast in the film, which took home an Academy Award for Best Original Song for a newly musical number. The story follows the life and political career of the Argentina's First Lady Eva Peron.
The Rocky Horror Picture Show (October 1, Hulu)
The Rocky Horror Picture Show is the iconic 1975 musical movie based on the stage show. The hit movie stars Tim Curry as the devious and fabulous Frank-N-Furter, Meatloaf, Barry Bostwick and Susan Sarandon as everybody's favorite nerdy couple – Brad and Janet – and the film's creator Richard O'Brien as Riff Raff.
Heartstopper Season 3 (October 3, Netflix)
In Season 3, Charlie and Nick are ready to take things to the next level. As they get closer in every way, they face their relationship’s biggest challenge yet. The hit series stars Joe Locke, who made his Broadway debut earlier this year in Sweeney Todd, alongside Kit Connor who is currently starring on Broadway in Romeo & Juliet opposite Rachel Zegler.
House of Spoils (October 3, Prime Video)
The film follows an ambitious chef (Tony nominee Ariana DeBose) as she opens a restaurant on a remote estate where she battles kitchen chaos, crushing self-doubt and a haunting presence who threatens to sabotage her at every turn. The cast also includes Barbie Ferreira, Arian Moayed, Amara Karan, Mikkel Bratt Silset, and Marton Csokas.
Rachel Bloom: Death, Let Me Do My Special (October 15, Netflix)
From the co-creator and star of Crazy Ex-Girlfriend comes a one-woman musical comedy that is definitely NOT about the ever-present specter of death. Death, Let Me Do My Show recently played Off-Broadway at the Orpheum Theatre and was nominated for a Drama Desk Award.
Elsbeth (October 17, Paramount +)
Elsbeth follows on the offbeat Elsbeth Tascioni, an unconventional but astute attorney who, after a successful career in Chicago, utilizes her singular point of view to make unique observations, and corner criminals alongside the NYPD. The series is a spin-off of The Good Wife and The Good Fight. This season, Broadway stars Nathan Lane and Vanessa Williams appear as guest stars.
Warriors (Oct 18)
WARRIORS, the new project from Lin-Manuel Miranda and Eisa Davis, is a concept album inspired by the 1979 Paramount Pictures cult film, “The Warriors,” based on the Sol Yurick novel of the same name. The album cast includes Phillipa Soo, Billy Porter, Colman Domingo, Busta Rhymes and more. Pre-order here.
Sunset Boulevard West End Cast Recording (Oct 25)
SUNSET BLVD: THE ALBUM was recorded live on the stage at London’s Savoy Theatre, where the new production first captivated audiences during its West End run. The cast recording features Nicole Scherzinger and Tom Francis performing the Andrew Lloyd Webber score.
Playing with Fire Concept Album (Oct 25)
This concept album from NSYNC's Jay Chasez is inspired by Mary Shelley's 1818 novel, Frankenstein. The album will feature 16 tracks and blend electronic pop and classical music, remaining the tale through a conversation between Frankenstein and his creation, The Creature, at the grave of Frankenstein’s wife, Elizabeth ten years after her murder.
