Starting on September 30 th, illy will host an exclusive tasting for coffee lovers that encompass this year's recently announced Ernesto Illy International Coffee Award (EIICA) growers. The ticketed event at Chefs Club Counter includes cuisine by Chef Alfio Ghezzi, a two Michelin Starred culinary talent from the Trentino area of Italy. The Sunday event includes a "blind tasting" and voting for the Coffee Lovers Choice Award presented by United Airlines, which will go to a top Arabica grower among this year's EIICA participants from Brazil, Colombia, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Ethiopia, Guatemala, India, Nicaragua, and Rwanda. In its third year, the EIICA recognizes coffee growers who demonstrate excellence in achieving sustainable quality, and celebrates their achievements via award gala ceremony at The Rainbow Room.

At the helm as owner and chef of L'Argine a Vencò, in Dolegna del Collio next to the Slovenian border, Michelin Starred Chef Antonia Klugmann is surrounded by vineyards in Northern Italy. Now in its third year, the Ernesto Illy International Coffee Award (EIICA) recognizes coffee growers who demonstrate excellence in achieving sustainable quality. The award is named in honor of illycaffè's beloved late, second-generation leader, and celebrates the company's nearly three decades of hand-in-hand work with farmers on a global scale to realize a dream of offering the best coffee to the world. illycaffè will bring a total of 27 growers (three per country) to New York City for a ceremony in the Delegates Room at the United Nations. An expert jury's evaluation of beans in three different preparations espresso, drip and cold brew - will determine, a sole "Best of the Best" honoree while a "Coffee Lovers' Choice" award presented by United Airlines will be conferred to the grower whose beans were voted best by consumers during multiple tasting events around the world.
