Wolfgang Puck is heading West...to the westside of Las Vegas! Twenty two years ago, Wolfgang Puck took a gamble on Las Vegas by bringing his famed Los Angeles restaurant Spago to The Strip. The gamble paid off, and the legendary chef is credited with igniting the fine dining revolution in Las Vegas that began in 1992 and continues today. After bringing five additional signature Strip restaurants to Las Vegas, Wolfgang and his Fine Dining Group will again venture into new territory with the opening of Wolfgang Puck Bar & Grill at Downtown Summerlin, Puck's first off-Strip restaurant.
"I am so fortunate that guests have embraced and welcomed us as part of the Las Vegas community for more than two decades," said Wolfgang Puck. "We have such strong loyalty from locals who have been, and continue to be, a driving force behind the success of our six Strip restaurants. It's exciting for us to move off of The Strip and become an integral part of the neighborhood."
Opening this fall, Wolfgang Puck Bar & Grill will showcase the master chef's contemporary version on the classic, American bar & grill. The approachable lunch and dinner menus will feature Puck's signature comfort food offering seasonally driven salads, sandwiches, grilled meats, seafood, handmade pasta, and pizzas from the wood-burning oven. Classic and artisanal cocktails, craft beers and wines will make the bar menu.
It's important to Puck and his managing partners, all who have children and young families of their own, to place a strong emphasis on family dining as well as convenience for guests. To do so, the team will create an extensive children's menu complete with healthful and enticing options perfect for toddlers to tweens. For guests' on-the-go, an innovative curbside program will offer ease of pick-up and payment to ensure quick in and out for customers.
The 200-seat restaurant will provide a warm and casual environment in a beautiful setting designed by EDG, who also created the stunning redesign of Spago at The Forum Shops as well as additional Wolfgang Puck fine dining establishments around the country. The design will take inspiration from Santa Monica, Austin and San Francisco, capturing the energetic yet relaxed lifestyle of each city, which is so much a part of Wolfgang Puck. The coloration and materials will pay homage to the desert beauty and towering red cliffs of Las Vegas' Red Rock Canyon. The stand-alone building will overlook a beautiful park in the shopping environment and will include two open and airy patio seating areas.
The restaurant will feature private dining space as well as various options for events small and large. The team will offer personalized service and attention to deliver unforgettable banquets, events, private functions for adult and children celebrations.
"When we opened Spago in 1992, I, along with managing partner David Robins, quickly rooted ourselves in the Las Vegas community through charitable outreach, building our homes and growing our families here," said Tom Kaplan, senior managing partner of the Wolfgang Puck Fine Dining Group. "We have had great interest in bringing one of our signature concepts to the local neighborhood. In all of our projects, it comes down to timing, the right partner and the right location. Downtown Summerlin is certain to become the premier community development in Las Vegas. We look forward to seeing many familiar faces, and hopefully new faces, at the restaurant."
When complete, Downtown Summerlin will include retail, entertainment, office and multi-family residences, designed to create a vibrant, walkable downtown in the heart of the affluent 22,500-acre master planned community.
