DALLAS, Nov. 5, 2013 /PRNewswire/ Fox Restaurant Concepts will open the first Texas outpost of its True Food Kitchen healthy dining restaurant in Dallas on Nov. 19, in the new Plaza at Preston Center's University Park Library building.

True Food Kitchen, which has six additional locations in Arizona, California and Colorado, was named a 2013 Nation's Restaurant News Breakout Brand. It offers a globally inspired menu, including starters, salads, pizzas, entrees and fresh-squeezed juices, based on Dr. Andrew Weil's anti-inflammatory diet for optimum health. It also offers vegan, vegetarian, organic and gluten-free options, along with dishes for those following a paleo or Mediterranean diet.

"Dallas has a diverse and sophisticated dining scene, but nothing like True Food Kitchen," said Fox Restaurant Concepts President and COO Russell Owens, a Dallas native. "Our menu is about promoting a healthy lifestyle by combining seasonal ingredients with global inspiration to help our guests feel good while enjoying a delicious dining experience."

The restaurant serves a wide variety of dishes made with ingredients like grass-fed beef, sustainably raised fish, and organic milk and butter. True Food Kitchen always serves organic selections of the fruits and vegetables listed on the Dirty Dozen, the Environmental Working Group's guide to pesticides in produce. The menu changes to take advantage of each season's best ingredients for fresh and naturally great-tasting dishes that don't require added butter, salt or fats for flavor. Nutritionally dense ingredients like sea buckthorn, kale and Anasazi beans are used throughout the menu for their vitamin- and antioxidant-rich properties to make every bite count. Seasonal fall dishes include the Autumn Ingredient Salad, featuring roasted vegetables, mulberries and pomegranate; Butternut Squash Pizza; and the restaurant's famous Squash Pie, along with year-round menu favorites like the Bison Burger and Panang Curry.

The full bar serves sustainable, organic or bio-dynamic wines and cocktails made with fresh fruit, honey and other natural flavorings. True Food Kitchen also offers non-alcoholic "Natural Refreshments" including juice, herb and vegetable blends like Kale-Aid with kale, apple, cucumber, celery, lemon and ginger, or The Natural with fresh ginger, agave and soda, served hot or cold.

True Food Kitchen isn't just healthier for people; it's also eco-friendly. Each True Food Kitchen is Green Restaurant Certified, using compostable take-out packaging and menus printed on paper from renewable resources. Even the dining room chairs are made from recycled plastic soda bottles.

The restaurant is open 11 a.m.-9 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 11 a.m.-10 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m.-10 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m.-9 p.m. Sunday. Brunch is served Saturdays from 10 a.m.-4 p.m.
