This Is It! BBQ & Seafood joins the U. S Marine Corps Reserve's Toys for Tots North Atlanta to help the organization collect toys for children who are less fortunate. "As more families have less to spend at Christmas, now more than ever the Toys for Tots program needs help from the community. We are asking that you Give Early - Give Now. This will help us manage the program and ensure we distribute as many toys as possible to the children of Atlanta" said Cherrie Carney, the Atlanta Toys for Tots Media Coordinator. The goal for This Is It! BBQ & Seafood is to support this program by filling up the restaurant's catering vans with at least 5,000 new unwrapped toys. The toys will be delivered to the Toys for Tots warehouse on December 14 where volunteers will then sort and distribute the toys to children by Christmas Day.
This Is It! BBQ & Seafood is thrilled to serve as a Toys for Tots drop off location for the first year. The success of the organization's efforts depends on the support of the local community and the generosity of people who donate toys, and that's why This Is It! BBQ & Seafood has joined this cause. "We need the help of our patrons to make this an enjoyable holiday season for as many children and families in our community as possible," said Shelley "Butch" Anthony, CEO and Founder. Patrons may stop by the Camp Creek full-service, Panola Road, Memorial Drive, Stonecrest and Fayetteville locations to donate a new toy for infants and children up to 15 years of age. No clothing or electronics will be accepted.
Additionally, This Is It! BBQ & Seafood will give away Thanksgiving dinners to families in need from each of its eight Metro Atlanta locations. Nominators were asked to submit a 100 word essay at http://www.thisisitbbq.com telling why they were nominating the family in need or themselves. Last year during the stores busy Thanksgiving holiday, This Is It! BBQ & Seafood fed over 120 people with the tremendous effort and help of its dedicated staff. Thanksgiving dinner nominations for 2013 closed on Tuesday, November 19 and families selected were notified on Friday, November 22 to arrange pickups from a store location nearest them on Thanksgiving Day.
