"The Great Irish Toast" at Fadó is a music and beer event as well as a "Toast Competition," celebrating the heritage of the traditional Irish toast. Historically, a toast is a call to a gathering of people to raise their glasses and drink together in honor of something special and, to the Irish, giving toasts are as much a part of their heritage as Public houses, whiskey, or Saint Patrick, himself. Guests must submit their personal "toasts" in person at the pub or on-line at http://www.fadoirishpub.com/columbus by February 19 for a chance to win many great prizes, including a pint a day for an entire year. Sponsors include Guinness Irish Stout, Magners Irish Cider and Jameson Irish Whiskey and for guests arriving between 5 - 7pm, they'll receive free samples of our featured libations. Ronni Hunter from 99.7, the Blitz Radio will once again host the Toast and giveaways and will read the submissions live. The Irwin Academy of Irish Dance will also make an appearance and perform. And, as part of a preliminary kick off to our annual St Baldrick's Foundation fundraiser on St Patrick's Day, two ice hockey players from the Columbus Blue Jackets will be on hand to raise awareness and shave their heads. Live music kicks off at 6.30pm with Blood, Sweat, and Beers and Swagg will keep the party going late, hitting the stage at 9.30pm.
