Taco Mac Sports Grill in Decatur Reopens with Fresh Look, New Patio & More Brews

Atlanta-based TM Restaurant Group today announced that the Taco Mac Sports Grill in Decatur has reopened for business after an extensive renovation. The fresh design and use of the restaurant's nickname, T.MAC, bring a contemporary and sports-inspired feel to the Decatur location. The renovation honors Taco Mac's tradition of expansive beer selection with a new bar area and also includes a new street-front patio, more seating and state-of-the-art sports viewing.

Since closing its doors in August, the T.MAC Sports Grill in Decatur has undergone a major transformation. Designed by ai3, Inc., the space has been reoriented towards Ponce de Leon Avenue, the town's walk-able culinary epicenter, through a street-front patio that can seat 30 or more guests. The interior features an expansive bar top prominently located towards the front of the restaurant to spotlight T.MAC's 100 draft beer taps.

The contemporary design is inspired by the cornerstone of the T.MAC experience - sports and beer. Overhead aluminum beer lines provide a visual connection to the constantly flowing selection and the restaurant features a beer bottle wall containing nearly 2,000 bottles. In a more subtle nod to the T.MAC beer experience, the terrazzo bar and communal table tops both contain remnants of beer glass. The sports-inspired décor includes reclaimed gym floors, football-like leather upholstery and a sports action photography installation. Other design highlights include a rich palette of millwork, masonry, warm colors and energy-efficient LED lighting.

The restaurant has also increased its seating capacity through several distinct sitting areas. With seating for 210, these areas include a family room that includes an adjacent game room; an airy, naturally lit sunroom enclosing what was formerly the exterior patio; and a circular six-top spinning booth. The 64 upgraded LED TVs located throughout the space, more than double the previous number, ensure a "best seat in the house" sports viewing experience at every seat.

The refresh also includes a new, larger brew selection with a greater focus on craft beers. In addition to 100 draft beers, the bar will offer 75 bottled varieties. The menu will include several new food items, including T.MAC's double hand-breaded chicken tenders, which are presently only being served at a handful of locations.

T.MAC selected award-winning design studio ai3, Inc. to envision and implement the renovation of the Decatur restaurant. The renovation took a total of 10 weeks to complete.
