Spring is in the Air: Fantastic Food and Great… Vibes at Tartina

It's not an oxymoron. The Italian Jazz Brunch at Tartina is the coolest thing happening in the Upper West Side (1034 Amsterdam Avenue, corner 111th Street)! Starting on Sunday, April 22, from 12 to 3 pm, guests at Tartina will have an opportunity to indulge in scrumptious culinary offerings while enjoying the smooth sound of jazz guitarist Pasquale Grasso.

These days, the trend in restaurants in the Big Apple, the gastronomic capital of the world, seems to be the pursuit of too many directions. The Sunday Jazz Brunch follows in this direction, too. Guitarist Pasquale Grasso will open the season. An award winning talent hailing from the Campania region of Italy, Pasquale is quickly making a name on the Big Apple's vibrant jazz scene despite his young age. A former pupil of Barry Harris, the world-renowned jazz educator and bebop piano master, Pasquale moved to New York City in 2012. He subsequently became a member of the Ari Roland Quartet and the Chris Byars Quartet, performing regularly in clubs, at music festivals, and in the recording studio. He has performed with an impressive list of musical artists that include Barry Harris, Charles Davis, Freddie Redd, Frank Wess, Leroy Williams, Ray Drummond, Murray Wall, Steve Grossman, Tardo Hammer, Jimmy Wormworth, John Mosca, Sacha Perry, Ari Roland, Luigi Grasso, Chris Byars, Zaid Nasser, Bucky Pizzarelli,China Moses, Harry Allen Quartet, Grant Stewart, Stepko Gut, Nicolas Dary, Dado Moroni, Agostino di Giorgio, Michel Pastre Big Band, Gianni Basso Big Band, Joe Cohn, Oscar Zenari, and Luca Pisani.
