South Street Doubles Holiday Fun with New Christmas Village and Santa's Stumble Bar Crawl, 12/14

South Street Headhouse District (SSHD) doubles the holiday fun on Saturday, December 14, 2013 with the first Christmas Village and Santa's South Street Stumble.

Enjoy a full day of handmade shopping at the Christmas Village under the Headhouse Square Shambles (Second and Pine streets) from 11:00am to 9:00pm. Festivities will include 30 handmade artisans curated by PHAIR, a visit from Santa, holiday photos at Posey Booth, and food and drink from Brauhaus Schmitz. Christmas Village is a free event, with shopping, food and drinks pay-as-you-go.

From 6:00pm to Midnight, SSHD will be filled with jolly laughter and the sight of Santa hats during Santa's South Street Stumble. Participants pay $5.00 for a special SSHD Santa hat that entitles them to holiday beer and cocktail specials at 13 participating bars and restaurants. Both events are rain or shine. CHRISTMAS VILLAGE

South Street Headhouse District partners with PHAIR, Philadelphia's open air market, to present the first Christmas Village under the Shambles at 2nd and Pine streets, on Saturday, December 14, 2013, from 11:00am to 9:00pm. The Village will feature 30 handmade artisans next to local district businesses selling food, drinks, art, handmade gifts, wreaths, jewelry, decorations, ornaments, chocolate, crafts, clothing and much more. Festivities will include:

Santa Claus will hear children's wish lists under the tree from 1:00pm to 3:00pm.
Posey Booth will take holiday themed photos that families can take home and cherish.
Brauhaus Schmitz will serve German sausage sandwiches, goulash, beer and gluhwein (mulled wine).

SANTA'S SOUTH STREET STUMBLE

It's the most wonderful time for beer! SSHD will be filled with the sounds of jolly laughter as hundreds of santas partake in the annual Santa's South Street Stumble on Saturday, December 14, 2013, from 6:00pm to Midnight. For only $5.00, guests will receive a special SSHD santa hat that entitles them to discounted drinks and cocktails at 13 bars and restaurants that include:

Stumble partner Goose Island will provide "Sixth Day Ale" and other various seasonal brews available, on top of specials at individual bars and restaurants. Proceeds from the sale of the Santa hats will benefit the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation, Knight Arts Challenge Grant. Stumble will happen rain or shine, and is open to participants 21 and older with valid identification.
