Schlotzsky's , home of TheOriginal oven-baked sandwich, will celebrate National Cookie Day on Sunday, December 4 by treating guests to free cookies in restaurants, via Twitter and in select United Service Organizations (USO) airport centers. In-store, guests will receive a free small cookie with the purchase of any entre, at participating Schlotzsky's restaurants nationwide, and have the option to upgrade to a Big "S" the brand's double-in-size cookies for only $1, while supplies last. On Twitter, fans who tweet @Schlotzskys with a cookie emoji on December 4 will receive a free cookie coupon via the brand's rewards app, Lotz4Me.

Additionally, as a thank you to service members and their families, Schlotzsky's will be giving away more than 1,000 free cookies at five USO centers across the country including USO Arizona at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport, USO Denver at Denver International Airport, USO Houston at Bush Intercontinental Airport, Jean R. Amos USO Center at Atlanta Hartsfield Jackson International Airport, and USO San Antonio at San Antonio Airport, available while supplies last.

"As we celebrate this sweet occasion, we're honored to be able to support the men and women of our armed forces with this small gesture of our gratitude," said Kelly Roddy, president of Schlotzsky's. "Whether our guests have a sweet tooth for classic flavors or more unique tastes packed into our Big 'S' cookies, we have the perfect cookie to celebrate National Cookie Day and complement the big flavors and bold ingredients of our guests' favorite entre items."

Small cookie flavors available for free with the purchase of an entre item on National Cookie Day include sugar, chocolate chip and oatmeal. Schlotzsky's Big "S" cookies that debuted earlier this year include Big "S" White Macadamia Nut, Big "S" Chocolate Chunk, Big "S" Salted Caramel Toffee, and the Big "S" Cranberry Crunch, which is available for a limited time for the holidays.

To sweeten the deal, Schlotzsky's is challenging its Lotz4Me app rewards members to try all four Big "S" cookie flavors during the month of December, at participating locations only. Lotz4Me members who purchase all four cookies as part of any qualifying rewards visit will receive one free small sandwich through the app. On Facebook, fans can follow the cookie crumbles on the brand's first ever canvas ad to find a sweet offer.
