This week, the LA Times mentioned New Belgium's "Lips of Faith Le Terroir" as one of the "five standout beers from L.A. Beer Week's opening gala." Within the last 22 years, New Belgium has grown from a tiny Fort Collins basement to become the third-largest craft brewery in America and the eighth-largest brewery overall. SaveOnBrew.com recently published an exclusive interview with Michael Bussman, the self-professed "Social Media Nerd" of New Belgium Brewery who explained what it's like to work at one of the fastest-growing craft breweries in the country.

"As an employee-owned culture, I've never worked at a place that is more family-oriented and tight-knit," Bussman tells SaveOnBrew. "One of our core values is to balance the myriad needs of work and family. We pay a better-than-average living wage, have outstanding benefits, and we make sure we have people living in - and deeply connected to - all the communities where we do business."

Currently, New Belgium is preparing to begin work on a second brewery in Asheville, North Carolina which should be up and running in late 2015. They're also working toward their goal of getting beer distribution into Idaho, Florida and Delaware, with all 50 states as well as Canada stocking their products by 2018.

Bussman explains, "There's a lot to that expansion, everything from supply chain to hiring more people in sales and production to figuring out what the tastes of these new markets are not to mention, finding distributors in all the states and trying to develop those relationships, as well as trying to effectively get our beer pouring with the quality measures that we're used to!" He insists that New Belgium's growth has been slow and measured, with gradual state roll-outs.

In the interview, he also shares behind-the-scenes stories about interesting fan mail, the weirdest beer New Belgium has ever brewed, and his favorite beer memory. Fans will get the latest word regarding what styles of beer are next in the pipeline for the Fort Collins brewery. The full interview can be found at SaveOnBrew.Com.

This exclusive interview is brought by SaveOnBrew.com, America's search engine for local retail beer deals. Users simply enter a zip code to access a list of beers on sale locally. Exclusive content is yet another way that SaveOnBrew continues to pioneer and bring craft brew fans relevant information.
