Eat It Up: Food Talks! will be staging the third talk in its Chef Series at the Seacoast Repertory Theatre with acclaimed chef Evan Hennessey of Stages at One Washington and Flavor Concepts Catering on Monday, September 29th at 7:30pm. The goal of the series is to provide the Seacoast community with educational, entertaining talks on local and national food culture with a focus on sustainability, artistry, and innovation. Eat It Up! works to provide an avenue by which food enthusiasts and food professionals can talk with some of the drivers of our local food culture.
Hennessey is a James Beard Award semifinalist for Best Chef Northeast, and was named a Rising Star Chef by Starchef.com. Hennessey has worked in some of America's most notable kitchens, including Per Se, Café Boulud, and Clio before opening Stages at One Washington in Dover. He is known for his blending of local ethics and high-tech techniques in approach to his dishes. Hennessey will take the stage with host Brian Kelly to discuss a variety of topics, and to demonstrate some of the more cutting edge techniques he uses at Stages.
"I'm really excited to talk to Evan. This is a chef who is really in his prime, cooking the most exciting food he's ever cooked," says host Brian Kelly.
Eat It Up: Food Talks is co-produced by Evan Mallett of Black Trumpet, Brian Kelly and Kathleen Cavalaro of eight/one productions, and Knate Higgins of the Seacoast Repertory Theatre. Future guests will include Gregg Sessler of Cava, Evan Hennessey of Stages at One Washington, and Mark Segal of Demeter's Steakhouse.
Seacoast Repertory Theater and Eat It Up will donate a portion of all ticket sales to The Chefs Collaborative's Culinary Sponsorship Program, a non-profit network of chefs dedicated to changing the sustainable food landscape using the power of connections, education and responsible buying decisions.
