As we anticipate the romance of Valentine's Day, OpenTable (OPEN), the world's leading provider of online restaurant reservations, is pleased to release its rankings of the 25 Most Romantic Cities in America.
While our nation is known for its diverse food culture, our analysis revealed that romance is a popular dining trend in cities across America. In order to provide a ranking of cities where romantic dining is inherently part of the culture, the OpenTable Most Romantic Cities Index was calculated using three variables: the percentage of restaurants rated "romantic" according to OpenTable diner reviews; the percentage of tables seated for two; and the percentage of people who dined out for Valentine's Day last year.
"Throughout history, love, food and romance are inextricably tied together," said Caroline Potter, Chief Dining Officer of OpenTable. "When we looked at the connection between the number of diners seeking to share a romantic meal and the array of area restaurants offering intimate dining experiences, the data clearly pointed to these as the top cities in which desire is celebrated over dinner."
The following cities, listed in order, comprise the Top 25 Most Romantic Cities in America. The complete list may also be viewed at http://www.opentable.com/most-romantic-cities-in-america.
