Leading natural peanut butter brands Smucker's, Laura Scudder's and Adams are teaming up once again to support the national parks through a $100,000 donation to the National Parks Conservation Association's (NPCA) America's Great Waters Program. Starting December 30, natural peanut butter fans can find a 25-off coupon on shelf in their local stores towards the purchase of Smucker's, Laura Scudder's or Adams Natural Peanut Butter. For every coupon redeemed by March 31, 2014, the brands will donate $1 to the NPCA, up to an additional $50,000.

The brands are also encouraging consumers to Make a Natural Difference in the New Year by taking small steps in their own homes and communities that can also have a positive impact on the watersheds in and around our national parks.

Through the America's Great Waters Program, the NPCA protects the nation's delicate water ecosystems that are critical to America's national parks. From the Everglades to Olympic, Acadia to the Grand Canyon, water is central to the health of our national parks, driving regional economies and shaping land and sustaining daily life.

"The J.M. Smucker Company is proud to continue its efforts in helping to ensure our national parks can be enjoyed by families for years to come," said Maribeth Burns, Vice President, Corporate Communications, The J.M. Smucker Company. "We all can make a difference for our local and state national parks through simple changes we can make right at home. With the help of consumers who enjoy our natural peanut butter brands, we can help the NPCA make an even bigger impact."

About the America's Great Waters Program

According to the National Park Service (NPS), more than half of the country's 401 national parks have waterways that are considered impaired under the Clean Water Act.[1] Most of the pollutants stem from activities happening beyond park boundaries where we work and live. The America's Great Waters program is a larger effort to protect, preserve and restore the nation's most iconic waterways. Some of the projects currently underway include: restoring America's Everglades by completing another 2.6 miles of additional bridging on Tamiami Trail; increasing recreational access and minimizing pollution threats to the Chesapeake Bay; and fighting to protect the Great Lakes from invasive species like Asian Carp.

About the National Parks Conservation Association

Since 1919, the nonpartisan National Parks Conservation Association has been the leading voice of the American people in protecting and enhancing our National Park System. NPCA and its 800,000 members and supporters work together to protect our National Park System and preserve our nation's natural, historical, and cultural heritage for our children and grandchildren.
