The GREAT Kitchens TM Gluten-Free Chef's Table Tour in conjunction with the National Foundation for Celiac Awareness (NFCA) announces the culmination of its fall tour in Los Angeles on November 13th and 14th. NFCA chef ambassador Chef Jehangir Mehta will support the NFCA GREAT Kitchens TM industry initiative by co-hosting several events aimed at educating restaurant and food service providers on how to provide gluten-free foods safely.

"Dietary restrictions shouldn't limit access to restaurant dining," says Chef Jehangir Mehta, NFCA chef ambassador and Next Iron Chef finalist. "For diners with celiac disease and gluten sensitivity, having access to safe gluten-free food is a necessity and not a luxury. Through the GREAT Kitchens TM Gluten-Free Chef's Table Tour, we hope to educate chefs across the country about the need for gluten-free menu items and open up a new culinary world for those who must avoid gluten."

Aimed at arming restaurants, caterers and universities with gluten-free front- and back-of-house skills and strategies, the GREAT Kitchens TM Gluten-Free Chef's Table Tour will co-host a series of exclusive events at two nationally acclaimed restaurants in the Los Angeles metropolitan area. On November 13th, Chef Mehta will join Executive Chef Mohan Ismail at RockSugar Pan Asian Kitchen to host a five-course, gluten-free chef's table dinner. On November 14th, Los Angeles chef and restaurateur, Sevan Abdessian will host Chef Mehta for a gluten-free luncheon at his renowned restaurant, Recess Eatery in Glendale.

The GREAT Kitchens TM Gluten-Free Chef's Table Tour Los Angeles experience will culminate with a cooking demonstration and student-facing presentation at the GREAT Schools accredited Loyola Marymount University. In conjunction with Executive Chef Sunil Beri, Chef Mehta will work with Loyola Marymount dining staff to increase awareness of gluten-free needs among students and emphasize the importance of gluten-free dining options throughout campus dining facilities.
