Current Brookfield, Conn. resident, Hobson Lopes, recently launched a crowd-funding program on Kickstarter for his cookbook, Men Cook Too: Easy to Follow Recipes for Men. Lopes is hoping to earn the funds needed so he can get the book professionally formatted, published and printed. "It will be a great addition to any kitchen," Lopes said.
Lopes, 28, is a 2012 graduate of Western Connecticut State University in Danbury, Conn., where he earned a Bachelor's degree in Professional Writing. The campaign will run until December 1. There are different pledge levels supporters can choose that will reward supporters with copies of the paperback book, e-book or even welcome the WCSU graduate into your kitchen for a home-cooked meal for up to six people. Men Cook Too is catered to men that don't know where to start when it comes to getting in the kitchen to cook. Basic recipes found online and in cookbooks are too technical for many men and that is one of the main reasons why Lopes decided to write the book. "When men see recipes in magazines or in cookbooks, they are often too difficult to understand," Lopes said. "In Men Cook Too, men will get step by step instructions that are easy to follow and easier to replicate."Videos
