Broadwayworld.com Food and Wine recently attended the tasting of Loire Valley Wines at The Park in New York City. The "Spring to Loire 2017" event featured some of the finest wines on the globe. Producers and distributors were on hand to discuss selections and offer tasting notes.
The Loire Valley is in the heart of France. It is famous for its natural year-round beauty, magnificent chateaux and excellent wine. The Loire Valley contains several district wine regions each with its own characteristic grapes, appellations and styles. They include Pays Nantais, Anjou, Saumur, Touraine, and Centre Loire.
With hundreds of wines to choose from, we made sure to sample a well-rounded variety. We tasted a few dry white varietals like Melon de Bourgogne and aromatic white varietals like Chardonnay. Refreshing rose wines are perfect for sipping like Pinot Gris or Cabernet Franc. The Valley's red wines include fresh fruity ones as well as rich, earthy selections. Gamay, Pinot Noir, Cabernet Franc and Malbec are all produced in the Loire Valley. Sweet wine shows the amazing versatility of Chenin Blanc. And sparkling wines like their Chardonnay or Grolleau are also top selections.
Explore the many choices of Loire Valley Wines that are available locally and at your favorite restaurants. You will find them to be ideal for pairing with your favorite foods or for toasting the lovely weather.
