Marinas Menu & Lifestyle: CAPE COD SELECT CRANBERRIES Makes Refreshing Cranberry-Mango White Sangria

"Cranberry-Mango White Sangria" is a light, bright, summer drink made with fresh, juicy Cape Cod Select Cranberries, along with a hint of mango and lime. The sangria is quick and easy to make and pairs wonderfully with all types of food. We served it at a family barbecue. It was so well received, we had to mix up a second batch. Here's the recipe for our readers that is being entered in the Cape Cod Select Summer Breeze Recipe Challenge.

Ingredients:

¼ cup of cane sugar

¼ cup of white rum

1 cup of Cape Cod Select Cranberries

1 cup of mango cubed to bite sized pieces (we used fresh, but frozen works just as well)

2 limes cut in circular slices

1 bottle of your favorite white wine

Method (In a medium sized pitcher)

-Stir together rum and sugar until the sugar is dissolved

-Add all the fruit to rum and sugar mixture and stir gently for a few moments

-Pour wine over rum, sugar and fruit mixture.

Finishing:

Fill your glasses ½ way with cubed ice and pour sangria into them. Make sure that each glass has an even amount of the delicious, colorful fruits.

Note: One of the best things about sangria is savoring the fruit. Enjoy the juicy cranberries and the sweet wedges of mango. If you have any left over, store in the refrigerator and have it the next day.
