Links TapRoom Throws THE BATTLE OF LAKE MICHIGAN for Chicago Craft Beer Week, Now thru 5/25

Links TapRoom - an All-American craft beer and sausage focused neighborhood bar from owner/beer director Michael Quinlan and managing partner Cary Michael located at 1559 N Milwaukee Ave in Wicker Park - will throw "The Battle For Lake Michigan" event for Chicago Craft Beer Week from today, May 15 thru May 25.

"The Battle For Lake Michigan" Chicago Craft Beer Week event at Links will feature craft breweries from Illinois, Michigan, and Wisconsin. The three states will receive 11 total tap offerings each (10 regular draft lines and one cask beer line) and each state will occupy one column on Links' six DigitalPour menu screens (digitalpour.com) - so there will be 33 different beers from all three states total throughout the event days and nights.

Every beer patrons order will help that particular state's progress towards the finish line. Patrons will be able to follow the "The Battle For Lake Michigan" progress live as the keg levels are updated on its DigitalPour menu screens.

Links' DigitalPour screens show which beers are on tap, brewery name, price, glassware, how much is remaining in the kegs, and customer social media integration via social media "check-ins" and updates tagged via Untappd, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and Foursquare.

The state that runs out of all its designated 11 lines of beer first via Links customer purchases will have a $500 donation made in its name to the Natural Resources Defense Council on behalf of Brewers For Clean Water. In addition, the winning state will have its name engraved on the highly-coveted "Golden Asian Carp Trophy" (which can be viewed here: http://bit.ly/1lPdDgF) that will be on display at Links year-round.

Featured breweries at Links for the "The Battle For Lake Michigan" include Revolution, Half Acre, Goose Island, Two Brothers, and Ale Syndicate from Illinois; Bell's, Founders, Dark Horse, Greenbush, New Holland, and Jolly Pumpkin from Michigan; and Tyranena, 3 Sheeps, Ale Asylum, Oso, and Lakefront from Wisconsin. One beer from each state will be only $4 throughout the event.
