La Scolca D'Antan Has Been Awarded 90 Points in 'Wine Spectator' Magazine

Chiara Soldati, Piedmont's premium wine producer, is currently celebrating its 97th year of winemaking in Gavi and is pleased to announce that La Scolca has been awarded 90 points forLa Scolca D'Antan, in the April 2016issue of "Wine Spectator" magazine.
"We've worked hard for many years to have our wines included on the finest tables in theworld," says proprietor Chiara Soldati."We're so proud of this distinction, which is an important achievement for us and an incentive to continue working with our simple production philosophy. Every time we are appreciated for our work, it's very important to us because our work is also our passion in life." La Scolca is famous worldwide for its Gavi dei Gavi, also named "Black Label," and now it is proud to achieve this important goal with the great Riserva La Scolca D'Antan.
The Soldati family, which means "soldiers" in Italian, have pioneered the craft in this region of the world by growing the finest grapes that the area can offer.
Great knowledge of vineyards has led the company to make courageous choices of cultivation,producing raw material with great acidity, minerality and all well-balanced elements as their reward. This results in a taste that balances the acidity with soft and fruity notes which linger in the mouth. "La Scolca D'Antan" is a pleasant surprise and its flavours are balanced in an almost magical way.
Many years ago, Bruce Sanderson of Wine Spectator said : "Most Gaviare best drunk young and paired with seafood, but la Scolca's D'Antan, which is aged for 10 years in stainless steel before bottling, develops toast, wax, iodine and mineral aromas and flavors not unlike a mature Champagne."
Without a little dose of Latin"furor" and passion,or without courage, it's very difficult to reach certain targets and to imagine audacious goals.
After the bunch, land and soil give the wine its soul,it still carries the mark of its maker.
After 97 years,La Scolcais still looking forward to the future.
