Hard Rock International is adding some "flair" to its bar as part of the second annual BARocker competition. Through BARocker, hundreds of Hard Rock's top bartenders from around the world were invited to take their place behind the bar and showcase their unparalleled bartending skills for the chance to be crowned as Hard Rock's Global BARocker Champion of 2014. Following several local BARocker events, Hard Rock Cafe Las Vegas will open its bar and invite the public to the regional round of the competition where contestants will flip, twirl, pour and spin for the chance to move on to the final round in Riviera Maya, Mexico.
On Wednesday, December 17, 2014, Hard Rock Cafe Las Vegas will host its regional round of this rock-star bar battle, featuring the cafe's best bartenders in both the Central and West regions. Bartenders from Hard Rock Cafes in Denver, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, San Diego, Seattle, Chicago and Dallas will represent Hard Rock in the regional BARocker competition which will be judged by a panel of industry experts and local celebrities, including Chris Kael of Five Finger Death Punch. Competitors will be judged on several key components, including recipe knowledge, pour testing, accuracy, speed, flair and showmanship.
Following the regional round, the winner will be flown to Riviera Maya, Mexico for Hard Rock's annual Global Conference in January 2015, for the worldwide BARocker finals where bartenders will compete alongside twelve other candidates for the title of Global BarRocker Champion. The grand prize winner will receive an all-expenses-paid trip for two to their choice of one of Hard Rock's beautiful all-inclusive resort properties along with a Global BARocker pin, trophy and apparel. The Global BARocker champion will also have their winning drink featured on Hard Rock's beverage menu for a limited time.
Hard Rock Cafe's extensive, award-winning drinks menu includes Hurricanes, margaritas, signature favorites and Alternative Rock (alcohol-free) beverages, all available in Hard Rock souvenir, collectible glassware. In 2014, Hard Rock rolled out a new and improved beverage menu to put itself at the forefront of drink innovation, capitalize on industry trends and introduce new drink serving vessels and techniques to its guests. Hard Rock remixed its drink lineup and developed more than 150 drinks in key areas, including tiki, coffee, dessert, mojitos, margaritas, lemonades, multi liquor teas and more.
