Ferrara Bakery & Café, founded almost 123 years ago as 'America's First Espresso Bar' by two Neapolitan immigrants, has transformed its Second Floor into a modern, versatile all-occasion party and special occasion space that is perfect for a multitude of special occasion celebrations, it was announced by Ernest Lepore, co-owner and executive chef of the world famous Italian Pasticceria and café.
Noted the world over for its Italian pastries, cookies, desserts, Cannoli, Cheesecake, Wedding Cakes and catering, the founders - Enrico Scoppo (Ernest's great grandfather) and opera impresario and showman Antonio Ferrara (Ernest's great, grand uncle) - set up shop in the same exact location as the current site of Ferrara, 195 Grand Street, between Mulberry and Mott Streets. "When my mother Adeline and I bought out my Uncle Alfred ten years ago, we laid out long-range plans to grow and take Ferrara into the 21st Century," says Ernest. "The newly renovated Second Floor Party space is the latest step in that direction. We are fully prepared to offer New Yorkers a beautiful new Party Room for important family and business occasions."
Since Ferrara does all its baking on premises, they can prepare special occasion cakes to order, including one-of-a-kind Wedding, Birthday and Anniversary cakes; set up the large room to a client's specifications, whether they are looking for a sit-down lunch, brunch or dinner for 75 guests, or an informal room set-up for a Cocktail Reception for 125 people. Ferrara also has experienced kitchen and wait staffs prepared to cater each affair and serve guests in a professional and courteous manner. There is a fully stocked bar, including an impressive wine cellar, available for any occasion.
Ferrara is also prepared to recommend (or provide) live music or a DJ for your event, and recommend or provide still photographers and/or videographers to make your event truly 'special' and 'memorable.'
