The Crus Bourgeois du Médoc (http://www.crubourgeois.com), one of the oldest and most prestigious classifications in Bordeaux, are pleased to announce that they will be partnering with Master of Wine and North America Market Advisor for the CIVB, Mary Gorman-McAdams, on a Crus Bourgeois du Médoc Masterclass at the 2019 New York edition of Vinexpo on March 4, 2018.
The Crus Bourgeois du Médoc Masterclass will be taking place from 1:30pm - 2:45pm, and will represent an incredible opportunity to discover the diversity and high quality of the Crus Bourgeois classification through a tasting of the 7 different prestigious appellations: Médoc, Haut-Médoc, Listrac, Moulis, Margaux and Saint-Estèphe. The Masterclass will focus on wines from the critically acclaimed 2016 vintage, a year that will go down as one of the best vintages for Bordeaux this decade, priced between $18 and $45.
Crus Bourgeois du Médoc Vice President, Armelle Cruse, will also be present at the Crus Bourgeois du Médoc stand (Vinexpo Stand 615) to discuss the launch of the new Crus Bourgeois du Médoc classification launching in 2020, starting with the 2018 official selection.
This new classification, which had been in development for the last five years, will represent a return to the historical hierarchy of the Crus Bourgeois du Médoc, with three categories: 'Cru Bourgeois', 'Cru Bourgeois Supérieur' and 'Cru Bourgeois Exceptionnel'. Once launched, the new classification will replace the single 'Cru Bourgeois' classification currently being exercised.
Since 2013, the number of Crus Bourgeois du Médoc distributed in the U.S. has grown from 130 to 200. Today, nearly 70% of the Crus Bourgeois du Médoc are available on the U.S. market and in most fine wine stores throughout the country. Each bottle of is authenticated with a QR code sticker that guarantees the quality of the wines that are bottled and enables Cru Bourgeois wines to be easily identified.
