Bongiovi Brand Kicks Off 2014 NYCWFF

Last night, the Bongiovi family helped kick-off the New York City Wine & Food Festival. John Bongiovi Sr. and sons Matthew and Anthony hosted La Sagra Slices to celebrate the national launch of the family's new line of pasta sauce, Bongiovi Brand.

Throughout the evening, crowds gathered around the Bongiovi booth to taste the sauce. Jon Bon Jovi also joined his dad and brothers to support his family.

Jon welcomed the crowd and congratulated his family on their brand's national expansion. As the chairman of the JBJ Soul Foundation, the music superstar also applauded festival founders for raising funds for their beneficiaries, Share Our Strength and Food Bank for NYC.

The tradition of the Bongiovi sauce began with Great Grandma Bongiovi, who made enough to feed the neighborhood using only the freshest, all-natural ingredients available. Both the recipe and the tradition have since been passed down for generations, but the feedback always remained the same - the family continued to hear, "you need to bottle this sauce." After years of encouragement, "Mr. B" has agreed to produce his family's classic pasta sauces, with the caveat that a portion of the proceeds be donated to the Jon Bon Jovi Soul Foundation.
