Bar of the Week: REFINERY ROOFTOP, NYC

We choose Refinery Rooftop on West 38th Street for "Bar of the Week." It's a great place for you to wind up as the summer winds down. We first visited this spot when it opened last year and have returned again and again for its distinctive charm and wonderful atmosphere. Refinery Rooftop is a go-to spot that is open year round.

Refinery Rooftop is a chic bar and lounge located in the Garment District of New York city atop the Refinery Hotel, the beautifully renovated luxury hotel that was once a turn-of-the-century hat factory. The interior features a distinctive décor that blends attractive modern touches with reclaimed wood elements taken from the building's original water towers.You will not find another place in New York City like it.

With incredible views of the Empire State Building, an inspired beverage menu and delicious small plates, Refinery Rooftop has a truly relaxing atmosphere. There are many seating options for parties of all sizes from small, intimate gatherings to group get-togethers.

Try one of their signature cocktails like their Luster ($14) Plymouth Gin, white cranberry juice, fresh lime juice, muddled cucumber with a dash of Pimms. Their Bourbon Smash ($16) is one of our favorites with Woodford Reserve, lemon juice, simple syrup, ginger beer and fresh mint. There is a nice selection of wine and sparkling by the glass and bottle, draft and bottled beer.

Refinery Rooftop makes pairing food with your drinks easy with a great selection of small plates that includes dips, flatbreads, crispy delights and sliders perfect for snacking. Try their Hummus ($13), Chef's Choice Flatbread ($15), Lamb Sliders (2 for $12, 12 for $45) or Arugula Salad ($10).

The Refinery Rooftop has a line-up of top DJ's for your listening pleasure. And, on Friday and Saturday nights after 10:00 pm, the lounge becomes a real hot-spot with an eclectic variety of music.

Refinery Rooftop is located at 63 West 38th Street in New York City. They are open seven days a week. Reservations are strongly suggested and are on a first-come, first-served basis.
