Moscow 57 in New York City is our "Bar of the Week." This venue has the best that the metropolitan area offers with a distinctive Russian twist. Located on Delancey Street, Moscow 57 is easily accessed by mass transit or by car. Visit once and come back again and again for their uniquely wonderful beverage program, delicious modern Russian cuisine, music, music and more music.
We visited on a Friday night when the bar and restaurant were in full swing. We were treated to several sets of music that included one by the ever-talented Ellen Kaye who performs nightly. The mood is just right at Moscow 57, with a wonderfully blended décor with deep rich colors and clever touches.
There's a fine variety of cocktails with signature drinks like their Cherry Orchard ($10) with sour cherry vodka, pomegranate liquer and prosecco. Or try their French Quarter ($12) a bourbon based delight. My all-time favorite is the M57 Moscow Mule ($10) perfectly made. There is a nice selection of our favorite beer and wines with Georgian wines from Russia. House made vodka infusions will put you in a festive mood. Shots ($7) include rose petal, tarragon & grape and pickle & dill.
We like the fact that Moscow 57's menu items can be easily paired with a round of drinks. Table shares include Spaso House Cheese Plate ($15), Eggplant Caviar ($8) Flatbreads or Blini. Stay for dinner and enjoy a fine selection of appetizers, entrees and desserts. There's comfortable seating at the bar, intimate table spaces and nice areas for large groups. Whether you come alone or with a group, I guarantee you will feel like family.
