Bar of the Week: Coopers Craft & Kitchen is Perfect for NYC Beer Week

Cooper's Craft & Kitchen, now open in the Chelsea neighborhood, is our pick for "Bar of the Week." It's an ideal spot to enjoy New York City Beer Week. Cooper's has a charming, rustic-style setting with deep woods, soft lighting and seating options that work for just a few friends or a group.

Cooper's Craft & Kitchen focuses on local breweries. They have joined forces with Greenport Harbor, Peekskill Brewery, and Barrier Brewery, which are all local New York breweries, to create a custom-made, one-of-a-kind craft beer exclusively for Cooper's. But Cooper's Craft & Kitchen also prides itself on offering some rare brews from around the world, from seasonal beers to limited edition draughts.

Cooper's will be collaborating with a different brewery every month, when the keg runs out, to create an exclusive brew for their locations. The next batch will be brewed at Barrier Brewery in New York and they have a many more collaborations in the works. They work with unique brewers like Evil Twin from Brooklyn, and carry their "Molotov Lite, " a 16oz can and a 8.5% double IPA brewed with orange puree and mango puree.

Cooper's is not totally about the beer, thought that's a great attraction. They also have a fine menu of food, wine and cocktails. Executive Chef Brendan Neville, formerly of Café Luxembourg and The Smith presents sharable plates and updated pub classics such as Crispy Artichokes, Little Mac Sliders, Cheese Plates, Grilled House Sausage, Wings and House Made Tots. If you want to make a night of it, their entrée selections are ideal for an evening of dining and relaxing.
