Raise your glass. Compagnie des Vins Surnaturels in Noho is our "Bar of the Week." One visit to this chic wine bar is just not enough. We will be returning soon to enjoy their remarkable beverage program and small plates.
This spot is casually elegant with seating options include a long bar, tables for two or more and spaces that provide for intimate gatherings. Wine displays accent the décor beautifully.
Compagnie des Vins Surnaturels makes the appreciation of wine an art. They also have wine bars in London and Paris so you can join people on the other side of the pond who also love the venue.
Relax, sit back and try some of the vintages carefully chosen by their expert Sommelier, Fabien Suquet. Fabian is so knowledgeable about the selection that he will help you determine a wine that is just right for your taste preference from their collection that spans the world. With hundreds of wines to choose from, the possibilities are endless and the price point is excellent. Wines by the glass include red, rose, white, sparkling and sweet wines and you can also order wine by the bottle for your party.
We enjoyed Van Zellers, Douro Red from Portugal, 2010 ($12 glass), Chateau Petit Roubie, Picoul de Pinet, Languedoc, France, 2012 ($11 glass) and JM De Foneseca, Moscatel de Setubal, white, Portugal, 2004, ($8 glass).
Chef Tibor Kogler has a European and American approach to small plates. Because there is a focus on the wines at Compagnie des Vins Surnaturels, the food is meant to complement wine. Enjoy Tuna Tartare ($15) with roasted baby beets, Housemade Charcuterie (starting at $9), Cheese Plate (starting at $6) or their Toad in a Hold ($13) with truffle butter, mushrooms and cured ham. Try a dessert like their Pot de Crème ($7) served with berries.
It's easy to get to the Noho neighborhood and visiting Compagnie des Vins Surnaturels makes being there the best part of your visit.
