On March 22-29, 2015 Baltimore-based mixologist and curator Ginny Lawhorn, and Frederick Wildman Spirits will present the first annual Baltimore Cocktail Week (BCW). This week-long event will feature programs and educational forums that focus not only on the craft of bartending, but on the health and wellness of those who work in the service and hospitality industries. Tickets are $15-35. More info is available at BaltimoreCocktailWeek.com.
BCW will offer a series of programs and classes on wellness and restoration, money management for cash-based incomes, master craft classes, and trade-show style mini-tastings designed specifically for Baltimore's service community, as well as contests that highlight the talented and creative bartenders in Baltimore and the surrounding areas.
From March 22-29, participating bars and restaurants will have Frederick Wildman signature cocktails available to the public. With each purchase, a one-dollar donation will be made to charitable organizations chosen by the participants. The highest donating participant will have the donation matched by Baltimore Cocktail Week.
The public is invited to attend the Cocktail Contest and Launch Party on Sunday, March 22 at 6pm at Pen & Quill, featuring some of Baltimore's most innovative bartenders who will compete to create the ultimate signature cocktail using Frederick Wildman Spirits as their base. The winner will be awarded a $250 prize and a $250 contribution to the charity of their choice, and be featured in an upcoming issue of Baltimore STYLE magazine, where Lawhorn is a contributing writer. Lite fare and a welcome cocktail will be provided.
On Tuesday, March 24 at 6pm, BCW Presents a Sip & Screen Tradeshow Movie Screening. Four craft spirit suppliers will host a mini tradeshow-style tasting and cocktail hour followed by a screening of CHEF, starring Jon Favreau as a chef who reclaims his creativity by starting a food truck. Lite fare will be provided. 20% of the proceeds will be donated to Ride for the Feast.
