Midtown guests can now enjoy the ideal luncheon, suitable for relaxed afternoons with friends, business gatherings or even a solo stop when shopping in the neighborhood. 212 Steakhouse has a menu that includes light fare or a satisfying mid-day meal.

212's prix fixe lunch menu has two courses for $25 with starters like their Baby Kale Salad or Organic Spinach Soup. For an entrée, choose from selections that include Short Ribs, Branzino or their signature Wild Mushroom and Truffle Rissotto. You can also order a la carte with signature salads that include Grilled Romaine, Argula or Mediterranean. Shrimp, steak, salmon and chicken can be added to salad choices. Sandwiches selections include swordfish, house burger and crabcake burger all wonderfully garnished. House specialty steaks and sides are also served during lunch hours.

212 Steakhouse is a restaurant that innovates and succeeds consistently due to the culinary imagination of restaurateur, Nikolay Volper and his Executive Chef, Keith Geter. A lot of artisanship goes into the luncheon selections at 212. The Short Ribs for instance, is wine marinated for hour upon hour. The resulting roast is tender with subtle smoky flavors, perfectly paired with the house truffle mashed potatoes. And, of course, prime ingredients must be a starting point for excellence and 212 draws together the finest ones imaginable.

It is always a joy to watch a restaurant do something genuinely interesting with the on-trend foods like 212 Steakhouse's quinoa salad, which starts with brown quinoa, mixes in roasted root vegetables, infuses everything with a maple reduction, and tops the dish off with manouri cheese. The onion rolls are a spin on a pub classic, fluffy, tasty and more artful than you'll find anywhere else. And after trying the house brussels sprouts with baked tomatoes you will vow to come back to have this side with other meals.

If you'd like a glass of wine or a martini with your lunch, the bar at 212 will leave you abundantly satisfied. I spent my last visit sipping two of the steakhouse's most popular cocktails, the Patron and the Ultimat. The Patron works with both fresh lemon and lemon bitters. The recipe's proportions and the indispensably smooth tequila bring harmony to the taste. The Ultimat is more of a crowd pleaser, ideal for summer and winter alike. Its blend of vodka, peach puree, and amaretto is bound to delight 212 guests year round.

We suggest an afternoon visit to 212 Steakhouse located at 316 East 53rd Street (between 1st and 2nd Avenues)New York, NY 10022. They are open for dinner Sun-Thurs 5-11pm, Sat-Sun 5-11:30pm and lunch Mon-Fri 11:30am-4pm, with brunch coming soon. The restaurant is also available for private events.
