Angus Club Steakhouse is a premier dining destination in New York City. Here you will have a fine gourmet experience and enjoy some very special touches. The restaurant is celebrating its one-year Anniversary and guests return again and again for delicious fare, a charming setting and the gracious, attentive service.

Angus Club Steakhouse is located at 135 East 55th Street in the heart of the city's business and shopping district. Open for both lunch and dinner, they also have chic dining spaces like that can accommodate small gatherings and large groups. Their spacious, welcoming bars feature an excellent beverage program that includes fine wines and creative cocktails.

We dined on a Thursday evening and met several of the restaurant's owners who enjoy greeting their guests. Angus Club will quickly become one of your favorite spots where you will always feel very welcome.

We have to rave about the appetizers. They are outstanding and set the scene for a totally delightful meal. The Crab Cakes are all crabmeat perfectly seasoned. Baked Clams are a great starter with a succulent center and crispy topping. The freshest salads are served in generous portions. We enjoyed their Wedge Iceberg Salad with creamy blue cheese dressing and thick sliced bacon.

Highlighting the Angus Club menu are the USDA Prime Black Angus cuts of beef. Executive Chef Edward Avdyli personally selects all the cuts of meat. Steaks are aged for 35 days, the perfect duration to insure the finest flavor. We enjoyed the tender Porterhouse Steak for two that arrived sizzling to our table. It was prepared to our exact request, medium rare.

Sides are a must. Distinctive choices like the Truffle Cream Corn, their special Angus Home Fries recipe and Truffle Mac & Cheese are accompaniments that you won't find anywhere else. Angus Club favorites like Creamed Spinach and steamed or sautéed vegetables will also round out your meal.

For those that prefer, the menu includes a wonderful selection of seafood including Lobster Tails, Grilled Chilean Sea Bass and Grilled Norwegian Salmon. Angus Club offers the ideal opportunity to dine in style no matter what your dietary preferences are.

Be sure to save room for dessert. Their Crème Brulee is scrumptious and the house-made Tiramisu is delightfully unique, topped with coconut flakes.

When you're in the neighborhood, be sure to stop by for Angus Club's Daily Happy Hour from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm with ½ price wines, beer, drink specials and $1.00 oysters.
