Review: PIG N WHISTLE Times Square for Delightful Pub Fare

Lunch, dinner, weekend brunch or drinks. Pig 'n' Whistle on West 46th Street in the Times Square neighborhood has you covered. It's an easy choice for theatergoers and many more. This quintessential Irish Pub and restaurant serves a nice variety of fare at a price point that couldn't be better. You'll feel totally at home here and don't be surprised if your server or the bartender chats with you about Ireland.

We stopped by on a Saturday just before a matinee performance for brunch and relaxed at one of the high-top tables in the bar area. There is also plenty of seating for guests on the upstairs level. There were a number of parties who were enjoying a pre-theatre meal and regulars as well. You can feel good about visiting a restaurant that is a neighborhood favorite, established over 40 years ago in 1969.

On the weekends, Pig 'n' Whistle serves a delightful brunch menu for $15. Choose from savory favorites like Eggs Benedict, a 3 Egg Omelet with a choice of 3 toppings, Huevos Rancheros, and of course a traditional Irish Breakfast with Irish Bacon, Irish Sausage, Black & White Pudding, Beans and Tomato. All brunch entrees are served with a complimentary cocktail that includes a Bloody Mary, Negroni or Mimosa.

For those that prefer, indulge in items like salad, soup, appetizers, and entrees that include Shepards Pie, Fish & Chips, Grilled Lemon Chicken, Salmon BLT, Home Made Edamame Veggie Burger or their Black Angus Burger. Snacks and desserts round out the menu.

With the winter chill in the air, our server, Jennifer suggested we top off our meal with Irish Coffee. The smooth, creamy blend of coffee and Irish Whiskey was absolutely luscious. Stop by anytime for this this specialty drink or enjoy cocktails, spirits, beer and wine from their extensive beverage program.
