Church Street Tavern shakes things up with culinary duo, Max Renny and John Daley's newly unveiled menu in the heart of Tribeca. They bring bold flavors as well as subtle novelty with their fusion of classic American and Japanese cuisines. The atmosphere is polished, sleek, and ideally suited for a night out with friends or an amorous evening with that special someone.
The menu provides a wide range sure to appeal to the masses. With that said, a few personal favorites are definitely memorable.
Kick things off with the bar and their fresh rhubarb cocktail. This vodka based drink with rhubarb bitter and hints of cucumber could resuscitate any long workweek or bad day.
Once the party has started, add to the mix the red snapper ceviche. A velvety crudo that is seemingly creamy at first but finishes with a crisp citrusy bite with the addition of red onions, cilantro, and orange segments. Continue along this tasty route with their tuna flights, scallops, and array of coastal oysters.
Follow the first courses to the main event in the dining room, where in this corner, weighing in at 8 ounces and packing a flavorful punch that could go bun to bun with any of the top ranked favorites, is the true star of this menu, The Tavern Burger. With its uniquely spiced dry-aged blend of beef heart, waygu, strip, and rib eye, this buzz worthy burger provides a delectable bite that will melt the heart of any true aficionado. Adding to the flavor is the melted Vermont cheddar, peppery arugula, and toasted brioche buns with a generous spread of house made bacon-onion relish. Other close contenders to check out are definitely the beef wellington and porchetta.
No matter where on the menu your taste buds lead you, Church Street Tavern is sure to satisfy. Journey down to Tribeca and discover this little gem's well-deserved hype for yourself.
