Burger lovers, rejoice-the James Beard Foundation will host the winners of the 2018 Blended Burger Project on Thursday, October 18. The project challenged chefs to blend mushrooms with meat to create a more delicious, nutritious, and environmentally sustainable blended burger.
With the 'blended burger' trend catching on, this event provides a unique opportunity to try some of the best burgers in the country. Tickets are open to the public and cost $125 or $100 for members. It will be held at the James Beard House, 167 West 12th Street, New York, NY 10011. Guests will be able to feast and celebrate with the five national winners of the 2018 Blended Burger Project. They include Alejandro Barrientos of Curb Side Bistro, Odessa, TX; Brandon Basista of The Bearded Chef, Palm Bay, FL; Fiore Moletz of Burgh'ers Restaurant, Pittsburgh; Justin Robinson of Courtyard Cafe at Raymond James, St. Petersburg, FL; and David Ruiz of Toltec Brewing, Albuquerque, NM.
Since the Blended Burger Project launched four years ago, more than 1,000 restaurants have taken part and consumers have voted more than 2.5 million times for their favorite burgers. More than ½ will keep their Blended Burger on menu after the James Beard competition ends.
