This holiday season, top chefs from across the country are encouraging cream cheese fans to bake for No Kid Hungry, a national campaign to end childhood hunger in America. PHILADELPHIA Cream Cheese has teamed up with celebrity chef and best-selling cookbook author Sandra Lee as well as other culinary professionals and food and lifestyle bloggers for an exclusive digital cookbook, Spreading Cheer with PHILADELPHIA, to benefit Share Our Strength's No Kid Hungry campaign.
From favorite classics like Key Lime Pie by Chefs Mary Sue Milliken and Susan Feniger, to decadent options like Carrot Cake with Cream Cheese Souffl by Chef David Burke, Spreading Cheer with PHILADELPHIA is raising awareness for the No Kid Hungry campaign in the most delicious way possible. A national sponsor of the campaign, PHILADELPHIA donated a total of $200,000 to No Kid Hungry in 2013, including a donation for each participating chef's cookbook recipe for this holiday program.
Sandra Lee, known for her exceptional, yet easy-to-follow cooking and entertaining techniques, is highlighting her decadent Triple CaraMel Cheesecake Bars in the 15-page online cookbook.
"No Kid Hungry is a cause that is extremely close to my heart," says Lee, a national spokesperson for the cause. "Not only are the recipes featured in this cookbook from some of the greatest chefs across the country, PHILADELPHIA was also able to connect kids to more than 150,000 breakfasts through donations made through this program * and I'm proud to be a part of something doing so much good this holiday season."
The book can be downloaded exclusively on CheesecakeCheer.com, the brand's just-launched interactive holiday destination providing unique tips and luscious cheesecake recipes from three online influencers.
"We know people bake more during the holiday season. In fact, online searches for holiday recipes triple during November and December," says Nina Barton, Vice President for PHILADELPHIA Cream Cheese. "We're offering cheesecake fans a unique experience to fulfill their holiday baking desires in a way that also supports our national philanthropic commitment to support No Kid Hungry."
An Online Destination for Cheesecake Fans
In addition to the Spreading Cheer with PHILADELPHIA cookbook, Lee is being featured in the leading cream cheese brand's digital holiday destination, CheesecakeCheer.com, along with two other prominent food and lifestyle bloggers, Bri Emery and Alice Currah. Each woman is featured in a personalized online room, offering tasty cheesecake recipes and do-it-yourself holiday tips.
Design and lifestyle blogger Bri Emery from Design Love Fest brings a fresh taste to holiday desserts with her Cranberry Orange Mini Cheesecakes, featuring homemade cranberry topping and refreshing, zesty orange twists. Savory Sweet Life's Alice Currah focuses on holiday favorites like her Classic Black Tie Cheesecake with a chocolate crust and raspberry jam for a modern twist.
"We want at-home chefs to 'stop by' and virtually explore these rooms to discover exclusive tips to make their holidays memorable and delicious," said Barton.

*This amount was determined on the basis that $1 can help connect a child with up to 10 nutritious meals, which is, in turn, based on the individual experiences of Share Our Strength's grant recipients. It is provided to illustrate how community investments can be used to help end childhood hunger. Each contribution made to Share Our Strength represents a contribution to its original mission. Donations will be used to reach the highest number of children facing hunger in America. Share Our Strength is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization.
