1000 Stories (http://www.1000storieswines.com/), California's original bourbon barrel-aged wine producer, announces the nationwide launch of its newest wine - Gold Rush Red. A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Petite Sirah and Merlot, the Gold Rush Red will be available for purchase through the brand's website and retailers across the country from June 1, 2018.
Gold Rush Red is a tribute to the California Gold Rush, a period of courage, bravado and curiosity -the same characteristics that guided winemaker Bob Blue in the creation of the wine. The result is a signature 1000 Stories wine: bold with intriguing notes of dried herbs, charred vanilla and a pleasant hint of smoke.
"The very essence of 1000 Stories is innovation at the intersection of winemaking and craft whiskey distilling, so it was only natural for us to explore different varietals. We are very happy with Gold Rush Red and we are excited to share the blend with our consumers," explains Bob Blue.
Blue also notes that the brand's significant growth since its launch in 2014 provided added incentive to expand the portfolio as it clearly demonstrates the growing interest and appreciation for bourbon barrel-aged wines.
The Gold Rush Red will retail for $18.99 and joins 1000 Stories flagship Zinfandel and special Father's Day limited release, the Batch Blue Carignan.

About 1000 Stories:
1000 Stories is a California winery and original producer of bourbon barrel -aged Zinfandel. The wines are made in small batches much like beer and spirits, each unique and expressive of Winemaker Bob Blue's interpretation of the fruit, vineyards and barrels whose singular qualities came together to create something new. Each batch offers an opportunity for discovery. Maturing 1000 Stories in new and used bourbon barrels from some of America's finest bourbon distilleries lends nuance and enhances Zinfandel's signature red fruit and spice notes. Because Bob knows a balanced wine can only come from a restrained approach to these intensely flavored barrels, he begins the aging process in traditional French and American oak wine barrels before transitioning lots to the bourbon barrels.
