Tango anyone? Everyone is welcome to be a part of the fashionable Argentinean dance experience at the 92nd Street Y's tango party. We attended on Saturday evening, November 2nd when people of all ages enjoyed the opportunity to learn classic moves, view a professional demonstration, and dance the night away in the congenial and welcoming atmosphere.

The evening was hosted by Dardo Galletto, one of New York's leading tango dancers who has over 20 years of experience. He instructs at Dardo Galleto Studios in midtown Manhattan along with Karina Romero. The floor space at the Y's Buttenwieser Hall was spacious and perfectly suited to ballroom appeal. Galletto pointed out that people who are dancing at all different levels can feel a connection to the tango and be inspired through dance.

Members of the New Generation Dance Company performed romantic graceful duets and routines laced with the energetic Latin rhythms characteristic to tango. Galletto himself performed to thrill the guests with his signature style.

Tango has been recently popularized by shows like "Dancing with the Stars" and stage shows that feature the allure and beauty of this classic dance style.
