New Jersey Performing Arts Center (NJPAC) recently had a launch event for Mystic India: The World Tour at the Gotham Club in New York City. This magical Bollywood dance spectacular will be staged at NJPAC's Prudential Hall for one performance only on March 8th. The internationally acclaimed dance tour features renowned musicians, brilliant dancers, breathtaking aerialists and acrobats and 750 opulent costumes.
Donna Walker-Kuhne, Vice President of Marketing and Communications for NJPAC, made opening comments. She highlighted the fact that the center is expanding their platform of providing "world class dance" with the Mystic India performance. She further commented that the center's commitment to diversity is perfect to feature this troupe of talented performers.
Founder and Director of Mystic India, Amit Shah expressed his excitement to be presenting the show at NJPAC and called it a "true collaboration." Shah is proud that the show is very entertaining and that it also expresses the "roots of Indian culture." He said the performance is meant to "reach people and touch people" and that the dancers and musicians "love what they do." As an Indian man that was born and raised in America, he is especially pleased to bring Indian-Americans the opportunity to be inspired by the authenticity of the show's varied elements.
As a preview to Mystic India, the press was treated to a teaser performance by Aatma Dance Group. A video was also shown with exciting highlights from past shows with wonderful music, beautiful dances and thrilling acrobatics.
Mystic India: The World Tour has travelled to four continents and performed for over 200,000 people. NJPAC audiences can expect an explosion of color and culture as Mystic India embarks on a journey through various regions of India and culminates with a celebration of the Bollywood film industry. Mumbai meets Newark, New Jersey, and area audiences should take advantage of this spectacular performance.
