Ring in the holiday season as you sing along with your favorite songs and carols during A FESTIVAL OF MUSIC at North Shore Music Theatre (NSMT)!  This special holiday concert–with a Broadway and Hollywood flair–will take place on Tuesday, December 2 at 7:30pm.  It will feature performances by NSMT audience favorite actors George Dvorsky and Maureen Brennan, The North Shore Philharmonic, the new NSMT Academy Performance Ensemble featuring students ages 14-18 years old, and more!  Special guest emcee will be arts and entertainment critic, Joyce Kulhawik.

A FESTIVAL OF MUSIC will feature traditional holiday favorites as well as seasonal music from popular Hollywood movies and Broadway musicals.  Classics like Joy to the World, Home for the Holidays and Sleigh Ride will be performed along with holiday songs from movies like "Home Alone," "How the Grinch Stole Christmas," "A Christmas Story" and "Scrooged" as well as Broadway musicals including "Here's Love," "Babes in Toyland," "Mame" and more.

"We are presenting a combination of holiday hits from stage and screen productions with the familiar repertoire of carols and songs," said Barry Ivan, NSMT's Executive Producer and Artistic Director. "This is a concert for all ages to enjoy. Bring your family and friends and kick off the holiday season with NSMT!"

The NSMT lobby will open at 6:30pm and concert attendees are encouraged arrive early to enjoy complementary refreshments. The lobby and outdoor courtyard will be festively adorned with lights and decorations in the spirit of the season.  In addition, A Festival of Music will kick off a food drive for local food pantries that will continue through the final performance of HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL 2 on January 11, 2009. Theatregoers are encouraged to bring a non-perishable food item for receptacles located in the lobby to support others in need this holiday season.
