On Tuesday, May 12, 2009, New Repertory Theatre will hold its 25th Anniversary Gala Fundraiser—an exciting evening of memorable scenes and songs from seasons past, including A Streetcar Named Desiree, The Clean House, The Threepenny Opera, Sweeney Todd, Into the Woods, and Ragtime. The performance will feature some of your favorite New Rep artists. There will also be a fond farewell tribute to outgoing Producing Artistic Director Rick Lombardo.
Along with the performance and farewell tribute, there will be both a live and silent auction of items ranging from a baseball signed by Kevin Youkilis to two tickets to the hottest show on Broadway, Billy Elliot: The Musical, with a behind-the-scenes tour given by Gregory Jbara; a raffle to win $1,000 worth of gift certificates to some of the area’s most fashionable restaurants; an elegant cocktail reception and exclusive pre-gala dinner with limited seating at the Commander’s Mansion in Watertown; and a scrumptious dessert reception that will conclude the evening’s festivities. The pre-dinner cocktail reception begins at 5:45 PM, the gala performance and live auction begins at 8:00 PM and will be followed by a dessert reception. All proceeds will support New Rep’s educational and artistic programming.
Tickets to the Gala Dinner and Performance are $250 each, and tickets to the Gala Performance are only $75 each. To reserve tickets, call 617.923.8487, or e-mail
