The Music Theatre of Idaho Rocks the Nampa Civic Center with Andrew Lloyd Webber’s School of Rock.
Nampa, Idaho – Get ready to rock this winter as The Music Theatre of Idaho brings the high-energy, feel-good musical Andrew Lloyd Webber’s School of Rock to the Nampa Civic Center! Based on the hit 2003 Jack Black film, (rated PG 13 for some mild adult language and situations) this electrifying production will take the stage January 30 and 31 and February 1, 2025, with showtimes at 7:30 PM Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, plus a 1:30 PM matinee on Saturday.
School of Rock is a heartwarming and hilarious story of rebellion, self-discovery, and the transformative power of music. When a down-and-out wannabe rock star (Mac Fishman) poses as a substitute teacher, he turns a class of straight-A students into an unstoppable rock band, challenging them—and himself—to break out of their shells and find their voices. A group of super, star pint sized rock musicians (Cameron Miyabara, Jagger Porter, Amelia Dyer, Anthem Radant-Henry) play rock instruments live onstage and are supported by a full ensemble of classroom kids (Rosalie Messina, Kendall Williamson, Jovi Porter, William Harrington, Jeremiah Messina, Stella Smith, Audrey McGrath, Arwyn Foutz, Stella Brandt, Riley Harrington, Bernadette Coghill, Sullivan Fagerson, Rayce Fletcher, Adelaide Ford, Maggie Marshall, Allyson Shepherd, Everett Wilson, Amelia Wilson) and a cast of MTI adult actors to create this amazing tale of family, friendship and the power of team work.
With music by Andrew Lloyd Webber and a book by Julian Fellowes, this production features an unforgettable score packed with show-stopping rock anthems and emotional ballads. Highlights include the high-energy numbers “Stick It to the Man” and “Teacher’s Pet,” as well as the touching “If Only You Would Listen.”
This family-friendly production promises to delight audiences of all ages with its humor, heart, and show-stopping performances. Whether you’re a fan of the original film or a lover of live theatre, School of Rock is a show you won’t want to miss!
