Women in Love, as adapted from the D. H. Lawrence novel of the same name and directed by Chuck DeLong, is a contemporized and Americanized love story about two sisters -Ursula and Gudrun Brangwen- and the respective men in their lives, best friends Rupert Birkin and Gerald Crich.  The play details the sisters' struggles with romance, domesticity, and the challenges of being young independent strong-willed women in today's society.  Frequently humorous, often bittersweet, and sometimes tragic, the story addresses themes of social class, rivalry, passion and love versus lust, art versus industry, as well as inner conflict and turmoil.

The two-act play features Jacqueline Holloway as Ursula, Angela Smith as Gudrun, Matthew Simberg as Rupert, and Strand company member R. Brett Rohrer as Gerald.

Women in Love runs May 8-17, 2009 at the Strand Theater. All tickets are $15 and may be reserved online at www.strandtheatercompany.org or by phone: 443-874-4917.
