Children's Playhouse Presents ONCE UPON A MATTRESS 5/9-10, 5/16-17, And 5/23-24

The Children’s Playhouse of Maryland, in residence at the Community College of Baltimore County, Essex, presents the uproarious musical comedy, Once Upon A Mattress.  Performances are 1 p.m., May 9 - 10, 16 - 17, 23 - 24 and a special 4 p.m. performance May 17 and will be held in the “J” Building Lecture Hall (J-137) at CCBC Essex, 7201 Rossville Boulevard.  Tickets, which are $10 regular admission and $8 for birthday parties and scout troops, are available from the CCBC Box Office at 443-840-ARTS.  (Actorlist recipients under the age of 18 get in for $5.00 with a copy of Art Notes.)

Alice Goldberg of Pikesville, Mike Delaney of Parkville, Anna Holmes of Bel Air and Alex Lucas of Timonium head the cast as Princess Winnifred, Prince Dauntless, Queen Aggravain and the Silent King.   Liz Boyer Hunnicutt is the director and Julie Parrish is the musical director for this production.

 This CPM production features 25 youth performers from Baltimore and Harford Counties and Baltimore City.  Cast members include: Olivia Aubele of Perry Hall, Meghan Cain of Towson, Victoria Caldwell of Joppa, Gino Cardoni of Essex, Allison Comotto of Towson, Matthew Coplai of Lutherville, Zoe Feldman of Baltimore, Tiffany Flaharty of Abingdon, Justine Foote of Lutherville, Chris Garrish of Nottingham, Emily Lipka of Parkville, Hannah Long of Middle River, Sheridan Merrick of Baltimore, Shelby Miller of Baltimore, Katie Seymour of Kingsville, Autumn Simpson of Bel Camp, Nikki Smith of Lutherville, Emil Sueck of Monkton, Jamie Watson of Baltimore, Clare Wise of Towson and Colleen Witowski of Parkville.

Once Upon a Mattress is a musical adaptation of the Hans Christian Andersen fairy tale, “The Princess and the Pea,” with music by Mary Rodgers and lyrics by Marshall Barer. The book is by Jay Thompson, Dean Fuller and Marshall Barer.

Tickets are available in advance by calling the CCBC Essex Box Office at 443-840-ARTS Tuesdays through Fridays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.; tickets are also available at the door one hour before all performances. The CCBC Essex Lecture Hall is a wheelchair-accessible facility.  Patrons requiring special accommodations are urged to inform the Box Office at the time of ticket purchase.
