The National Ballet of Canada kicked off its 60th Season Wednesday night in Toronto with the world premiere of Alexei Ratmansky's Romeo and Juliet. BWW is thrilled to bring you exclusive photos from the lavish production.

This Friday the New York Pops journeys back to a fancier era, where men were men and the women wore beautiful clothing! Carnegie Hall will be transformed into a Mad Men inspired wonderland for a very special concert featuring Cheyenne Jackson and the 'music of the Mad Men Era'. The show was conceived and conducted by Steven Reineke, who was kind enough to speak with BWW about his love of that genre, and working with the talented Cheyenne Jackson.

Idina Menzel arrives in Toronto for two very special concerts November 17th and 18th. The Tony Award winning star of Rent, Wicked and Glee will perform with Marvin Hamlisch and the Kitchener Waterloo Symphony Orchestra and the concert will be filmed live for PBS. This marks the first time Idina will perform in Toronto since 2008, and she was kind enough to speak with BWW about why she chose Toronto, her role on Glee and her musical theatre past, present and future.

Ride the Cyclone, the smash hit of 2010's Summerworks Season, returns to Toronto this week until December 3rd at Theatre Passe Muraille. In the spirit of the show's quirky, comical and slightly dark nature, the cast has agreed to an exclusive no-holds barred Twitter chat with BWW to celebrate the show's return. Choreographed by Alexei Ratmansky, this production promises to excite and wow audiences by combining the beauty of the long-treasured piece with modern adaptations. BWW sat down with Elena Lobsanova (who will dance the role of Juliet on opening night) to talk with her about the difficulties of dancing in such a well-known piece and the new challenges that come with her promotion to first soloist.

Love Lies Bleeding is an all new ballet based on the music of Elton John and Bernie Taupin, and it opened last night at Toronto's Sony Centre for the Performing Arts. After a critically acclaimed run at the Alberta Ballet, the production comes to Toronto for a limited engagement thanks to David Mirvish who is presenting it in the city for the rest of the week. Marcus Nance just wrapped a fantastic season playing Caiaphas in the critically acclaimed Stratford Festival production of Jesus Christ Superstar, and is having a one night only cabaret in Toronto on Nov 10th before heading off to La Jolla with the Superstar cast. This past weekend the Toronto Symphony Orchestra celebrated Halloween with a special screening of The Wizard of Oz, where the original film was screened in Roy Thomson Hall with the TSO playing the score. Green Door Cabaret is a relatively new initiative in Toronto, created and founded by Robert Missen in an effort to revisit and re-explore the glory that is old-fashioned cabarets. Every Friday and Saturday night for the rest of November various musical theatre stars will be featured at The Lower Ossington Theatre performing intimate, original, cabaret style works. One of the first events featured husband and wife team Louise Pitre and Joe Matheson, performing songs they had written themselves for the first time ever. 2 Pianos, 4 Hands is arguably one of the most successful plays in Canadian theatre history, having played on 5 continents and in over 150 cities.
