A special event was held earlier this week, October 28 at 5:30 PM at Don't Tell Mama (343 West 46th Street) to celebrate the release of Seth Rudetsky's new book, SETH'S BROADWAY DIARY, VOLUME 2. In addition to Seth, the event featured Stephanie J. Block, Andrea Burns,Ana Gasteyer, Mandy Gonzales and Jackie Hoffman, who performed excerpts and some of Seth's favorite songs. Today, Hamilton producer Jeffrey Seller and Hamilton creator Lin-Manuel Miranda, The Rockefeller Foundation president Judith Rodin, NYC Department of Education Chancellor Carmen Fariña and Gilder Lehrman executive director Lesley Herrmann announced an educational partnership to provide 20,000 NYC public school students with the opportunity to see Hamilton on Broadway and integrate the show into classroom studies. This educational initiative is made possible through a $1.46 million grant by The Rockefeller Foundation to Gilder Lehrman.

The production, which is directed by five-time Drama Desk Award nominee Jack Cummings III, features Jessica Fontana (Cinderella) as Lady Larken, David Greenspan (The Patsy) as The King,Hunter Ryan Herdlicka (A Little Night Music) as The Minstrel, Cory Lingner(On the Town) as The Jester, Zak Resnick(Piece of My Heart) as Sir Harry, Jay Rogers (Howard Crabtree's When Pigs Fly) as The Wizard, and Jason SweetTooth Williams(Things to Ruin) as Prince Dauntless, with Vivienne Cleary,Richard Costa, Michael De Souza,Tim Dolan, Jack Donahue,Amy Griffin, Sarah Killough, Kristen Michelle, Ali Reed,and Doug Shapiro.

As BroadwayWorld reported over the weekend, Maureen O'Hara, known for her roles in golden age Hollywood films such as MIRACLE ON 34TH STREET and THE PARENT TRAP and star of Broadway's CHRISTINE, died on October 24. She was 95.

Second Stage Theatre's New York premiere production of INVISIBLE THREAD, a new musical by Matt Gould andGriffin Matthews, in association with American Repertory Theater, directed by Tony Award winner Diane Paulus(Finding Neverland, Pippin), will begin performances next Saturday, October 31st at Second Stage's Tony Kiser Theatre (305 West 43rd street). Broadway's new suspense thriller Misery, starring two-time Emmy Award winner and Golden Globe Award winner Bruce Willis and three-time Emmy Award winner Laurie Metcalf and written by two-time Academy Award winner William Goldman, just began performances last night, October 22, 2015, at Broadway's Broadhurst Theatre (235 W 44th Street), and officially opens on Sunday, November 15, 2015, in a strictly limited 16-week engagement. As BroadwayWorld previously reported, comedy and television icon Bob Saget will step into the role of 'Pastor Greg' in the Tony® Award-nominated comedy Hand to God beginning November 3, 2015 through the production's previously announced closing on January 3, 2016. Saget returns to Broadway after making his Broadway debut in 2007 in the Tony® winning musical The Drowsy Chaperone. He will join current Hand to Godcast members Steven Boyer, Geneva Carr,Sarah Stiles, and Michael Oberholtzer. 3-time Tony® nominee Marc Kudisch, who originated the role of 'Pastor Greg', exits the production on November 1st to begin production on Baritones Unbound. Hand to God plays at the Booth Theatre (222 West 45th Street) through January 3, 2016 before immediately transferring to London's West End, with performances beginning on February 5, 2016 at the famed Vaudeville Theatre.

Manhattan Theatre Club's world premiere of Ripcord, the new comedy by Pulitzer Prize winner David Lindsay-Abaire, directed by Tony and Emmy Award winner David Hyde Pierce, opened just last night, October 20 at MTC at New York City Center - Stage I (131 West 55th Street).
