Just yesterday, the stars of Broadway's hit musical Waitress, Betsy Wolfe, Drew Gehling and Joe Tippett, put their taste buds to the test. The trio tasted pies to celebrate the publication of the Waitress-inspired cookbook Sugar, Butter, Flour: The Waitress Pie Cookbook, Recipes from the Files of Jenna Hunterson.

Academy Award-winning filmmaker, best-selling author, and political icon, Michael Moore will bring his thought-provoking, controversial fare to Broadway in The Terms of My Surrender, his theatrical debut.

Adapted and directed by Icke and Macmillan, 1984 officially arrives in New York this evening on the heels of four wildly successful U.K. runs. Just yesterday, the cast of Broadway's Beautiful gathered for a pop-up performance of some of Carole King's most famous hits, at a piano designed by the cast to celebrate Carole King's story. Each of the records on the piano represent the 14 Carole King songs in the show with lyrics from the title song, "Beautiful," on the front of the piano. After the month of June, the piano will be donated to a school in need.

Me The People: The Trump America Musical, a new musical revue with a book and lyrics by Nancy Holson (Bush Wars, The News in Revue on PBS - 5 Emmy Awards, Ludwig Live!), and directed and choreographed by Jay Falzone (Bush Wars, Cooking with the Calamari Sisters), plays at The Triad (158 W. 72nd Street between Amsterdam and Columbus Avenues). Produced by Jim Russek, the open-ended engagement begins June 22. Opening night is June 29.

The Off Broadway Alliance, the organization of Off Broadway producers, theaters, general managers, press agents, and marketing professionals, just presented the 7th annual Off Broadway Alliance Awards yesterday at Sardi's. Honorees were on hand to accept their awards and Signature Theater founder James Houghton was posthumously inducted into the Off Broadway Hall of Fame.

Manhattan Theatre Club presents the world premiere of Fulfillment Center, the new play by Abe Koogler, directed by Daniel Aukin. Fulfillment Center opened just last night at The Studio at Stage II - Harold and Mimi Steinberg New Play Series at New York City Center - Stage II (131 West 55th Street). 

Just yesterday, the Women's Forum of New York presented The 7th Annual Elly Awards Luncheon benefiting The Education Fund of the Women's Forum on Monday, June 19th at The Plaza Hotel in New York City. The awards, named for the Women's Forum founder Elinor Guggenheimer, honor outstanding women leaders. This year marks the 30th anniversary of the Education Fund of the Women's Forum, which has has helped over 200 women over age 35, whose lives have been disrupted by extreme adversity, complete their college degrees.

Earlier this month, Roundabout Artistic Director/CEO Todd Haimes received a special honor, as he was toasted by his large family of Roundabout Theatre Company staff and artists for receiving his very own portrait at Sardi's. BroadwayWorld brings you photos from the celebration below!

Fresh off of the show's four Tony wins, Hello, Dolly! just welcomed two-time Tony Award®-winner and one of Broadway's most treasured stars, Donna Murphy, stepping into the role of Dolly Gallagher Levi for Tuesday evening performances beginning last night, June 13. (Ms. Murphy will also take over the role during Ms. Midler's vacations.)

Broadway star Betsy Wolfe joined the cast of Waitress just last night, June 13 in the lead role of expert pie-maker Jenna Hunterson. Wolfe is joined by Joe Tippett, who also steps into the role of Earl tonight. Drew Gehling will reprise the role he originated when he returns to the cast of Waitress on June 27, 2017 as Dr. Pomatter. Chris Diamantopoulos will play his final performance as Dr. Pomatter on June 25. The Brooks Atkinson Theatre just got a fresh look and Wolfe (along with producer Barry Weissler and her costars Caitlin Houlahan and Charity Angel Dawson)  helped unveil the makeover below!

Just yesterday, Irish Repertory Theatre presented SONDHEIM AT SEVEN, this season's Gala Benefit production, at The Town Hall. Featuring an introduction by Special Guest Angela Lansbury, SONDHEIM AT SEVEN honored Carmine D. Boccuzzi, Jr., Partner at Cleary Gottlieb LLP, and recognized the extraordinary contributions of Anne Anderson, Ambassador of Ireland to the United States; Barbara Jones, Consul General of Ireland in New York; and David Donoghue, Ambassador of Ireland to the United Nations.
