Earlier this week, SiriusXM Broadway host Seth Rudetsky hosted and music directed Not Since High School, a benefit concert that showcased Broadway performers singing the classic roles they played as teens while wearing braces and/or breaking out. Performers included Sierra Boggess, Mario Cantone, Jerry Dixon, Christine Ebersole, James Monroe Iglehart, LaChanze, Jose Llana, Jessie Mueller, Julia Murney, Emily Skinner, Keala Settle, and more.

Just last night, the cast of the Tony Award-winning musical NEWSIES bowed for the last time at the Nederlander Theatre. NEWSIES featured a Tony Award-winning score with music by eight-time Academy Award winner Alan Menken and lyrics by Jack Feldman, with a book by four-time Tony Award winner Harvey Fierstein. Produced by Disney Theatrical Productions, NEWSIES was directed by Tony nominee Jeff Calhoun and choreographed by Christopher Gattelli, who won a 2012 Tony Award for his work. As BroadwayWorld previously reported, Don Pardo, best known as the announcer for NBC's long-running sketch comedy series Saturday Night Live, has passed away earlier this week at the age of 96.

This fall, one of America's classic musical comedies is back on Broadway - On The Town, featuring Tony Yazbeck, Jay Armstrong Johnson and Clyde Alves. ON THE TOWN, the classic musical comedy love letter to New York City, will return to Broadway this fall in a critically acclaimed production directed by John Rando (Tony Award® for Urinetown) and choreographed byJoshua Bergasse. Bergasse makes his Broadway debut as a choreographer with the production. On The Town will begin previews on Saturday, September 20, 2014 and officially open on Thursday, October 16, 2014 at Broadway's Lyric Theatre (213 W 42nd St, New York, NY 10036). The Pulitzer Prize winning play Disgraced by Ayad Akhtar will have a Broadway production this fall, beginning previews on September 27 and opening on October 23 at the Lyceum Theatre, 149 West 45th Street. The production will be directed by six-time Tony Award-nominee and Drama Desk Award winner Scott Ellis (The Mystery of Edwin Drood, Twelve Angry Men, 1776) and will play a 19-week limited engagement. The New York Humane Society and the show's Animal Trainer, Bill Berloni just brought kittens over to the rehearsal studio for Scott and select cast members to find the right ones for the roles of the two kittens in the show.
