Chrysler Hall is set to welcome the AMERICAN IDIOT national tour this upcoming winter, the punk rock adaptation of Green Day's conceptual album of the same name, from January 25 and 26th.

On Monday, August 6 Watts Village Theater Company (WVTC) will host its annual Gala titled, "Meet Me @Metro: Uncovering LA's Hidden Treasures VIP Gala & Pre-Show." The Gala will serve to promote WVTC's annual site-specific collaboration with the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority, "Meet Me @Metro: Uncovering LA's Hidden Treasures," which runs from Aug. 25 - Sept. 2, 2012. Proceeds from the event will go towards programming including WVTC's ongoing after-school underserved youth arts education programming in South LA in partnership with Green Dot Public Schools.

The Michigan Shakespeare Festival, the official Shakespeare Festival of the State of Michigan, proudly accepted a standing ovation for the opening performance of Richard III on Saturday night. Radial Theater Project presents 99 Layoffs, a new play by Seattle-based playwright Vincent Delaney. The world premiere of 99 Layoffs is a co-production with ACT Theatre's Central Heating Lab, presented August 2-25, 2012 in ACT's Eulalie Scanduzzi Performance Space (the "Lalie").

The Burt Reynolds Institute for Film & Theatre (BRIFT)announced the addition of a special three-hour seminar entitled ACTORS' NEW DIRECTIONS to the summer schedule. This class, taught by the highly accredited writer/director Frank Eberling, offers actors alternatives for furthering their careers. Eberling has worked on over 100 S.A.G. productions. The thrust of the seminar is to encourage actors to take charge of their careers by producing their own films.

The Library of Congress and the Music Division will open "The Musical Worlds of Victor Herbert" on Aug. 16. Wrapping up Mad Cat Theatre Company's 12th season, is yet another World Premiere, this time a play written by Jessica Farr and Paul Tei. THE HAMLET DOG AND PONY SHOW is a deconstruction of Shakespeare's tragedy, HAMLET. Their take not only allots the age old question "To be or not to be" but contemplates whether or not the question is even still valid in today's hypermodern society. Through the use of music, multimedia and puppetry, The Hamlet Dog and Pony Show, directed by Paul Tei, is a tragedy of errors that remains in dialogue with the dead in order to build a method for which to go on living.

After several well-received Canadian productions, The New York Musical Theatre Festival will offer Christopher Wilson's LIVING WITH HENRY its US Premiere.
