Tomorrow, October 12, the Craig Handy Quartet will play at Rue 57 in New York City. The quartet consists of Matt Chertkoff on guitar, Kyle Kholer on organ, Mclenty Hunter on drums, and Craig Handy on saxophone.

Led by Artistic Director/Founder Takehiro 'Take' Ueyama, the TAKE Dance company premieres THE DISTANCE OF THE MOON, a full-evening work featuring six different musical selections choreographed by Ueyama, Jill Echo, Kile Hotchkiss and Julie Tice. Known for its penchant for musicality, TAKE Dance has commissioned PULSE, a federation of six award-winning composers, to create multi-genre works for this debut collaboration.

Chanhassen Dinner Theatres presents a wide range of performances in the coming months. On The Main Stage, Chanhassen Dinner Theatre presents ALL SHOOK UP playing now through Jan 29, 2011. In association with The Growing Stage in Netcong, NJ, Playwrights Theatre is pleased to present ACROSS THE WIDE AND LONESOME PRAIRIE by Julie Jensen. The America's Got Talent Live 24-city tour, a traveling re-creation of the #1 NBC TV show, kicked off in Oakland, CA on Oct. 1 and will be at Detroit's Fox Theatre on Sunday, October 24 at 7:30 p.m. The tour features thrilling performances by this season's most beloved performers including the winner, singer/songwriter Michael Grimm, baroque opera singer Prince Poppycock, black light performance artists Fighting Gravity, illusionist supreme Michael Grasso and more. Additionally, the incomparable Jerry Springer acts as host and MC.

Lincoln Square announces its October lineup of events starting with New York City's largest holiday festival, Winter's Eve at Lincoln Square. The event will take place on Monday, November 29, 2010. Now in its 11th year, Winter's Eve features free entertainment, food tastings, family fun and live music along Broadway from Time Warner Center to 68th Street. Tens of thousands of people flock to Lincoln Square on the first Monday after Thanksgiving to enjoy great food, more than 20 free musical and dance performances, children's activities, ice-sculpting, and special shopping promotions at area retailers. Diverseworks presents Yasuko Yokoshi's 'Tyler Tyler' October 14-16. 'Tyler Tyler' resumes Yasuko Yokoshi's artistic partnership with Masumi Seyama, revered master teacher of Kabuki Su-Odori dance and the heir to the legacy of Kaniyuro Fujima VI, one of the renowned Kabuki choreographers of the 20th Century in Japan. Together they deconstruct new choreographic material from Fujima's classical dance repertories. Yokoshi and Seyama dare to face boundaries of different training, cultural code and social hierarchy yet simultaneously desire to cherish the forms and beauty of universal language of dance.

Mad Horse Theatre launches their 25th Anniversary Season with the Maine premiere production of SIX DEGREES OF SEPARATION, running October 7-October 24. The public is invited to come to HEADLAND on Saturday night, October 9, at 7:00 p.m. at Opus Nostrum Theatre. The evening is part of Headland Chamber of Commerce's Annual Harvest Days.The evening at Opus Nostrum will feature a free movie that is a re-enactment of the convention that resulted in the 1901 Alabama Constitution, plus a comic interpretation of some of the State's 835 amendments and then audience discussion.

The Theatre School at DePaul University presents THE SECRET GARDEN, written by Frances Hodgson Burnett, adapted by Pamela Sterling, and directed by John Jenkins, as the opening production of the 2010-2011 Chicago Playworks for Families and Young Audiences Series. This production opens Tuesday, October 30, and runs through Saturday, December 4, 2010, at DePaul's historic Merle Reskin Theatre. Performances are Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays at 10 AM and Saturdays at 2 PM. There will be no performances on November 23, 25, 26, 27, or 30. Brought to you from Ben Folstein, the writer of MUSIC AND LYRICS, LOVE IS LIKE MUD is a story about the romantic misadventures between city dwellers Jon and Anne. After meeting on the subway they have an awkward first date, followed by a torrid night of sex. Before they know it they are in the midst of a relationship, wondering if they have fallen in love.
