On Sunday, October 21, the Actors Unite to End Alzheimer's NYC 2012 team walked in Riverside Park in the National Walk to End Alzheimer's for the Alzheimer's Association. Actors Unite was founded by Nancy Daly, former member of the Actors' Equity National Council, in 2011 in honor of her own mom who died of Alzheimer's on May 8, 2012. Nancy wanted to build a community of support and compassion for her fellow actors and anyone who has a loved one with Alzheimer's.

Marc Bamuthi Joseph's red, black & GREEN: a blues (rbGb) is an interactive installation and performance that blends spoken word, music, film and contemporary and hip-hop dance to re-imagine a green movement that is inclusive of black and brown voices, and posits that valuing LIFE is the first step to valuing the planet. The critically acclaimed theatrical piece will make its New York debut during BAM's 30th Next Wave Festival from October 31 - November 4, 2012.

Each concert will be specially filmed for DVD and will feature never-before performed live tracks. The Alden's 2012-2013 McLean Kids Performance Series will begin with a performance by Hobey Ford's Golden Rod Puppets. The show, "Migration," will be performed at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 27. Admission is $15 or $10 for McLean Community Center district residents. The theatre is located at 1234 Ingleside Avenue in the McLean Community Center.
